Seven Lessons from President Clinton?s Race Initiative: A Post-Mortem on the Politics of Desire
.Only the U.S. has the principles and human capital to overcome global tensions: U.S. diversity will aid unified action.
.Self-interested morality produced enlightened global economics.
.How we understand the ?Problem of Race? and the ?Problem of Pluralism? will determine whether or not racial conciliation is possible.
.We?ll continue to have heated dialogues on the nature and form of just reparation for post breaches in racial justice.
.Our increasing diversity will pose new challenges to future presidents as we try to expand the American Dream and justly reconfigure immigrant policy while simultaneously trying to address injustices experienced by those who are already here.
.To make progress on race, we must find a way to get taboo topics into the conversation.
.For future presidents, talk about race may be difficult, if not impossible.
