I am very mean. I have an ugly plan to demonize blog.blogchina.com [ I do not even link to it here and won't give it any chance to raise its pagerank from my site]. Why? Coz I do hate this so-called grassroots media but indeed an "elite club". Here comes the chance. Let's see how this smug PIONEER copies the layout from blogger.com without any shame.

First off, Let us have a look at this. The first one is a part of screenshot from blog.blogchina.com.

This is from blogger.com

Anyone with eyes can see the similarities. Now Let's get closer and observe more details.

Absolutely plagiarism, huh? Regretfully, I failed to find any detailed copyright infomation on blogger.com but this one is enough.

Good luck, blogchina. I'm watching you. Shame on you.

Is there any surprise that a Chinese company shamelessly usurp other companies intellectual effort? If you visit sports.sina.com.cn like I do, you'll find half of their articles are mere (lame) translations of ESPN or others.

I would actually lay the blame on the Chinese people, not the company - they are still not that well informed about the world that gives those companies chances to steal but not caught. Or, maybe they are nonchalant about stealing designs. The point is, I don't see anyone in China complains, that's why blogchina will survive.

BTW, I mean to say you have a very nice site also. :)

I am shame of myself too. Tom.com once needed some people to write (translate) the NBA news and comments from NBA website, I was one of those so called journalists. No more words, that's true.

One important point to note is that culturally IP doesn't have a long or strong history in China. In fact copying is most often considered a high compliment.
While China became a signatory of the berne convention on copyright in 1982 they only joined the WTO with its strong internationalisation of copyright laws recently.
For many in China it is still ok to copy... they just haven't caught up with the modern laws and attitudes of the west

on that note... pretty site

Very much agreed with the comments above. I am not at all surprised, having seen complete rip-offs of many sites (including forums).
